I had a hard time dealing with the fact my mom died only two years after her retirement. She worked hard her entire life to not even be able to enjoy the fruits of her labor. There were so many things I heard her talk about doing and she never got the chance to do it.
It really got me thinking about how I can get the most out of my life. My parents were not entrepreneurs by any means but the one thing they did teach me was that owning real estate was key. They were both so proud when I was able to buy my first property at age 24. That first property gave me the jump start I needed and really allowed me to see the potential of real estate.
Although real estate has opened many doors for me financially it is not what I believe is the end all of leveraging life. Leveraging LIFE is the goal. Real estate is one piece. I’ve read a ton of books by different CEO’s, athletes, musicians etc. Take a look at some of my favorite books HERE.
Slowly things have started to click for me. I’ve realized that I need to have more intention with the things I’m doing in life, even the things I don’t like. I learned I can’t just work just to work. I need to be taking maximum advantage of the job(s) I have. 401 K, benefits, learning from management, etc. I no longer look down on my 9 to 5’s, I LEVERAGE them.
I’ve become intentional about other aspects of my life as well. I’m a big procrastinator. I will put things off until the last minute. Terrible toxic trait I have. In order to combat that, I’ve gotten intentional about planning. I now block out time to conquer the things I hate most. Honestly once you set the intention of getting it done, it usually only takes a fraction of the time you wasted. Check out some of the planners I use HERE.
Leveraging Everything In Life is about maximizing all the opportunities that life gives you. It’s about being intentional about everything you do, from your finances, your health, to the way you treat others and the way you live your life. We are all a work in progress but through this blog I hope to help us all along the way.
